Can be related to pregnancy or not. Is common for women at all ages of their life and can be due to hormonal changes, fibroids, polyps, cancers. It is easy to work out the reason for bleeding with the examination, ultrasound and sometimes hysteroscopy (a camera looking inside of the uterus) and choose the best treatment.
Is a condition where the tissue that is part of the lining of the womb grows outside of the womb onto the tummy, the ovaries, and other areas. Endometriosis is usually diagnosed on laparoscopy (an operation that involves looking with the camera inside of the tummy) and treated with hormones or surgery.
Are growth in the uterus which are usually not cancerous but often cause problems with bleeding, difficulties falling pregnant or recurrent miscarriages. Fibroids and polyps are diagnosed on examination, ultrasound and hysteroscopy. If they need to be treated they are usually removed surgically though there are non-surgical treatments too.
Is leaking urine or wind or faeces. In other words, incontinence is having no control over bladder or bowel function. There are different types of incontinence (leaking urine with cough or laugh is stress incontinence which usually needs surgery such as sling procedure; leaking urine accidentally when there is strong urge to pass urine is called urgency and usually treated with tablets). There are many other types of incontinence, which are treated differently.
Discribes a time in women’s life when the ovaries stop working gradually and some women may develop symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, difficulties sleeping, mood changes, vaginal dryness and bleeding, osteoporosis. There are a number of interventions available to prevent and treat menopausal symptoms.

Are also common especially during reproductive ages. They are usually non-cancerous, diagnosed with the examination and ultrasound. Some of them disappear without any treatment and others need surgery.
Are suggestive of pre-cancer or rarely cancer of the cervix and need further assessment with colposcopy (looking at the cervix with “a big microscope”) and treatment (excising the abnormal cells picked by Pap smear and seen with colposcopy).
Is a condition where the bladder wall at the front or the bowel at the back or uterus in the middle slips down into the vagina and even outside of the vagina. Women might feel “a ball” or fullness in the vagina, experience backache, painful intercourse, problems passing urine. Childbirth, obesity, smoking, chronic cough, having a hysterectomy, constipation and getting older all predispose to the development of prolapse. There are various treatments for this condition that are tailored depending on the type of prolapse, age of the woman, her reproductive wishes. The treatment includes pelvic floor exercise, surgery, pessary.
Can be caused by many problems such as endometriosis, infection, prolapse, fibroids, tumours, cysts on ovaries, irritable bowel syndrome, other problems with bowel, bladder, nerves. Rarely despite all kinds of investigations, we cannot find the cause of pelvic pain. There are many various treatments for this condition.
